Andy Hagerman
Beginning his professional life as a tubist and bassist, Andy was first introduced to the world of audio production while studying at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. At that time, MIDI and computer music were in their infancy, and Andy recognized the usefulness of these new technologies in aiding the creative process. He had the unique opportunity to learn these tools as they were being created and refined, and his quest for the best in audio and music technology ultimately led him to use and teach Avid’s Pro Tools.
After years of varied experience as a performer, composer, arranger, and producer (including as a musician and arranger for Walt Disney productions and Tokyo Disneyland), Andy followed his passion for education, becoming Associate Course Director of Advanced Audio Workstation Studies at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. in 2005, he joined the training team at Avid Technology as Training Services Manager for the Asia-Pacific region (with his office based in Tokyo Japan, where he resides today), then moving to the position of global audio curriculum manager. During this time he authored numerous books on music and audio production, including required reading for Avid Pro Tools certification.
As a partner at Maru Audio Training, Andy is hard at work delivering live training and creating training content used worldwide.
Alex Brooke
Alex is an Avid Certified Instructor for Pro Tools with over a decade of experience managing media training programs for universities and private training facilities. Formerly the Asia Manager for the Avid Learning Partner Program, he worked closely with universities across the region to develop industry-standard certification training programs.
With a deep understanding of learning management systems, curriculum design, and online education businesses, Alex brings a practical, no-nonsense approach to training. When he’s not teaching, he’s knee-deep in dialogue editing for podcasts, ensuring that people sound their best.”
Based in Tokyo, he shares his home with his endlessly patient wife, an indifferent cat, and a growing collection of guitars that he “definitely” needed.
